DETAILS OF ACCIDENT:
On Sunday October 9th, 2006 @ 0555hrs, the West Chatham Police Department received a report of an auto accident in the area of Jerseyville and Lynden. Upon arrival, police located one vehicle off the road and in the woods that was fully engulfed in flames.
The driver in the vehicle died previous to being found as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Two children were found in the nearby woods whom escaped the vehicle, sustaining minor injuries.
The driver (and registered owner of the vehicle) was identified as Julia Russel, W/W/29 of Kanata, ON.
Ms.Russel was operating a 1999 Toyota Corolla.
The children were identified as Tao Russel, and Rayne Russel.
Preliminary investigation revealed that rain and debris may have been a contributing factor to the accident.
The West Chatham Police Department were assisted by OPP, West Chatham Ambulance, West Chatham Hospital Medics, Kanata Fire Department, and Kanata Children's Aid Services.
